Active Fire Protection
“The purpose of a fire alarm system is to support the fire safety strategy for the building.” (SANS 10139).
Fire Detection
The objective of an active Fire Detection System is to protect LIFE and PROPERTY. To achieve this objective we provide a Fire Engineering Solution, incorporating science and engineering, to reduce the spread of fire and allow sufficient time for occupants of the building to escape and ensure the early attendance of the emergency/fire services.
At FireSpec Systems we only use approved equipment (EN54, BS, LPCB or VDS), which include Point Type Detection, Linear Detection, Aspirating Detection, Manual Callpoints, Infra Red Detection and Specialized Detection. Coupled with our approved range of Ancillary Equipment and PA and Evacuation (where phased evacuation may be required) we provide a Turnkey solution to any premises no matter how big or small.
Fire Suppression
The main objective of a gas extinguishing system is to suppress a fire by means of Oxygen Starvation, Cooling and/or Interruption of a Chemical Reaction. This is achieved by means of a Total Flooding or Local Application system using an Clean Agent Gas or Carbon Dioxide. Applications for Fire Suppression systems include, but are not limited to areas where fire could damage other areas of potential extreme danger (eg. Transformer room) or where damage to these typical areas can be catastrophic and massively damaging financially (eg. Archives or Computer rooms).
