Panel Penetration Seals

FireSPEC can supply only or supply and install panel penetration seals for the fire resistant closing of any size of opening in walls, ceilings and/or floors. Our application provides a smoke and gas tight fire stopping seal around penetrating utilities such as cable trays, pipes and ducts.

The products comply with all requirements and have been tested by the South African Bureau of Standards SABS 0177 Part TT.

Fire stopping seals can be formed to provide 60 or 120 minute fire protection in respect of integrity, stability and insulation.

For this application, fire retardant batts, clad with an intumescent coating as standard, are cut to the size of the required opening and all penetrations through this and edges are coated similarly with a site applied intumescent fire protecting mastic and/or trowel applied paste. For the protection of vertical and horizontal cableways, cables are coated with either a water based or solvent based intumescent fire stopping coating to all cables and trays, to provide fire protection for 60 or 120 minutes.. For removable and replaceable seals, FireSPEC can provide intumescent pillows and/or intumescent fire retardant foam as an alternative for heavily trafficked areas.

FireSPEC also provides fire stopping intumescent collars and wraps for penetrating pipework.
