Passive Fire Protection

FireSPEC is best known for its ACTIVE fire prevention systems, but with the recent acquisition of Special Services, we are able to offer the complete package of both ACTIVE and PASSIVE protection.

Legislation for fire containment is becoming a top priority with the government departments concerned. The correct specification and installation of both active and passive fire protection, in commercial and industrial buildings, have become an important component, which needs to be performed to ever increasing standards set by our fire departments.

Our fire stopping services include: Intumescent paint coating for structural steel and timber , that has up to a 120 minute rating. Electrical cable protection coatings and pillows . Intumescent collars and wraps for PVC pipes. Coated glass fibre fire stopping curtain. Two hour rated Fire Spec, Fire board and Fireseal CS board, for ceilings, drywalls and boxing applications. Vermiculite coating spray applications (Mandoval approved applicator). Rockwool fire stopping bat seals, up to 4 hours. Acrylic Intumescent Fire Retardant Mastic.

We offer both supply only of materials and a supply and fix contracting service. We are available to provide certification of installations, where required.
